North Eastern Railway has announced a major mega block on the Gorakhpur Cantt (GKC) to Paniyhawa (PNYA) section. Why is the mega block being implemented?
The railway administration is carrying out several development projects under the Gati Shakti initiative. The main reasons for this block include the construction of a Foot Overbridge (FOB), track upgradation, non-interlocking work, and platform development. Specifically, a separate block is proposed at Gorakhpur Junction from May 29 to the first week of June for work on platforms 7 and 8.
