The bridge, located at railway crossing number 147B, was specifically designed to end the chronic traffic congestion caused by the frequent closing of railway gates. This project represents a major investment in regional connectivity, boasting the following details:

  • Investment: The project was completed at a cost of approximately ₹59.44 crore.
  • Scale: The bridge spans a total length of 649 meters.
  • Purpose: To provide uninterrupted movement for vehicles and pedestrians.

Adding a unique touch to the engineering feat, the pillars and walls of the structure feature murals that depict the historic Chauri Chaura incident, blending modern infrastructure with local heritage.

Progress at Jatepur Railway Colony

While the Chauri Chaura bridge is now operational, work is moving forward at another vital location. Near the Jatepur Railway Colony in Ward Number 34, construction for a new railway overbridge is currently in progress.

Site operations are highly active, with teams working on several critical tasks to ensure the project's successful completion. Current activities include:

  • Site Preparation: Land leveling and the removal of debris and obstructions.
  • Structural Work: Mixing of concrete and the construction of heavy-duty structural pillars.

These efforts are part of a broader push to modernize the Gorakhpur division's infrastructure and reduce transit times for the local population.
