Greater Noida's Bodaki to Become a Massive 267-Acre Multi-Modal Transport Hub!
Greater Noida is on the verge of a massive infrastructural revolution. The Bodaki region is set to host a sprawling Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) that promises to redefine regional connectivity. Spanning a colossal 267 acres, this project is designed to be a game-changer for commuters in Gautam Buddha Nagar and the wider NCR region.
A Railway Terminal on Par with New Delhi and Anand Vihar
The heart of this massive development is a state-of-the-art railway terminal. Occupying 46 hectares within a larger 176-hectare hub development, the terminal is being built to match the operational scale of major stations like New Delhi and Anand Vihar. Once operational, it will be a powerhouse of movement, capable of handling approximately 100 trains every single day.
- Premium Services: The terminal is designed to accommodate high-speed services, including the Vande Bharat Express.
- Robust Infrastructure: To manage this heavy traffic, the facility will feature 12 platforms and 63 yard lines to support both passenger operations and essential maintenance activities.
Seamless Connectivity: RRTS, Metro, and Bus Integration
What makes the Bodaki hub truly unique is its "multi-modal" design. It is engineered to integrate various modes of transport into one seamless network:
- Namo Bharat (RRTS) Integration: The hub will connect with the RRTS network, featuring proposed corridors that link Ghaziabad to the Noida International Airport at Jewar, as well as an approved route connecting Gurugram and Faridabad to Greater Noida.
- Metro Extension: Plans are in motion for a 2.6-kilometer elevated metro extension from the Depot Station to Bodaki, a project currently awaiting final approvals with an estimated cost of Rs 416 crore.
- Inter-State Transit: The facility will house an Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) along with local bus bays to facilitate smooth travel across state borders.
An Airport-Like Experience for Passengers
The vision for Bodaki goes far beyond traditional railway transit. The project aims to provide passengers with an airport-like experience through high-end amenities. To achieve this, the hub will include:
- Multi-level commercial spaces.
- Modern showrooms.
- Professional office complexes.
While the initial budget for the project was estimated at Rs 1,850 crore, costs are expected to rise as these premium commercial and retail elements are integrated into the master plan.
Project Status and Development Leadership
Following its designation as a 'Special Railway Project' in December 2024, significant progress is being made on the ground. The project is being spearheaded by the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor-Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (DMIC-IITGNL), a joint venture between the Central Government and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).
Land acquisition is currently moving through seven villages surrounding Boraki, with approximately 80% of the land already secured. A dedicated officer has been assigned to finalize the remaining process, with the project expected to reach completion within three years of the master plan's approval.
