Commuters traveling on the Hardoi-Lucknow road are facing significant disruptions as the Devmanpur railway crossing (Gate 259-C) has been closed to all road traffic. This closure is necessary to facilitate essential track maintenance and replacement works.
Maintenance Details and Duration
The maintenance project, which commenced on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, is scheduled to continue through Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Senior Section Engineer Pawan Sharma confirmed that the operation involves the replacement of railway tracks located directly at the crossing site to ensure continued safety.
Daily Closure Timings
To facilitate the heavy repair work, the crossing will remain inaccessible during specific hours each day. Motorists should plan their journeys around the following window:
- Restricted Hours: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Dates: September 22 and September 23, 2026

Since the crossing situated between Balamau and Baghauli stations is currently impassable, the railway department has advised the public to use designated alternative routes to avoid delays. Motorists are directed to utilize the following gates:
- Balamau Station Railway Crossing (Rail Gate 258-B)
- Barwa Sarsand Railway Crossing (Rail Gate 260-C)
The crossing will remain shut until the track restoration work is finished and the site is returned to service.
