Howrah Division: Jaynagar & Godda Express Trains Cancelled Oct 4

Passengers planning to travel via the Bandel-Shaktigarh section need to adjust their itineraries immediately. The Howrah Division has announced a significant 120-minute traffic block on October 4, which will lead to the cancellation and rescheduling of several key train services.
The scheduled maintenance is required to facilitate essential signal work associated with the decommissioning of Level Crossing Gate Number 12, located at the boundary of Adisaptagram station. This maintenance block is set to take place between 12:10 PM and 2:10 PM.
Major Train Cancellations Announced
Due to the duration and nature of the signal maintenance, several long-distance services have been hit. The following trains have been cancelled:
- 13031 Howrah-Jaynagar Express (Originating October 4)
- 63141 Sealdah-Godda train (Originating October 4)
- 13032 Jaynagar-Howrah Express (Originating October 5)
- 63142 Godda-Sealdah train (Originating October 5)
Commuters are advised to check the latest status before heading to the stations to avoid inconvenience.
Kaviguru Express to Face Delays
While some trains are cancelled, others are merely being rescheduled. The 13028 Azimganj-Howrah Kaviguru Express will operate on October 4 but will experience a significant delay. Instead of its usual 8:10 AM departure, the train is now scheduled to depart from Azimganj at 9:40 AM, representing a 90-minute delay.
Wider Regional Disruptions
The Howrah Division is not the only area facing operational hurdles. The Indian Railways network in the region is currently managing multiple challenges:
- Rajendra Pul Maintenance: Ongoing non-interlocking work at the Rajendra Pul is expected to continue until October 4. However, regular operations on the new double-line bridge are anticipated to commence from October 5.
- Flooding in Malda Division: Rail traffic continues to be severely impacted by flooding in the Sahibganj-Barharwa section within the Malda Railway Division. This has led to a broader series of diversions and cancellations across the region.
Travelers are encouraged to monitor official railway updates for real-time information regarding route changes and service restorations.
