Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Gets Premium Floral Comforters
Indian Railways has announced a luxurious upgrade for passengers traveling on the prestigious Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express. To enhance the onboard experience, premium floral comforters have been introduced in the First AC coaches, bringing a touch of elegance and warmth to long-distance journeys. These Howrah New Delhi Rajdhani comforters are part of a major push to modernize passenger amenities.
A Festive Upgrade for Durga Puja
Implemented by the Eastern Railway, this new initiative officially rolled out on October 11, 2026. The timing is intentional, as the railway aims to provide extra comfort and a festive feel during the Durga Puja celebrations.
These colorful and attractive floral comforters are set to replace the traditional blankets that passengers have long been accustomed to. The move is part of a larger strategy to improve onboard facilities and ensure that high-profile travelers enjoy a more premium and cozy environment during their transit.
Strict Hygiene and Sanitization Standards
Recognizing the importance of cleanliness in premium travel, Eastern Railway has implemented a rigorous maintenance protocol for the new linens. To ensure passenger safety and maintain high standards of hygiene, the following measures have been established:
- Thorough Cleaning: Every comforter undergoes a deep cleaning process to remove any impurities.
- Sanitization: A strict sanitization cycle is followed after every single round trip to maintain medical-grade cleanliness.
This update, which gained significant attention following reports on October 12, 2026, reflects the ongoing commitment of Indian Railways to continuously improve onboard facilities and provide a superior, modernized travel experience for its passengers.
