Indian Railways has announced the introduction of a new Hubballi-Khatipura Special Train service to facilitate smoother travel during the upcoming festive season. The service is set to commence its operations on October 31, offering a direct rail link that connects several cities across four different states.

To accommodate the high passenger demand expected during this period, the railway authorities have scheduled a total of six trips for this specific special service.

This new route is part of a larger initiative by the Indian Railways to boost connectivity through various festive special trains. It follows the recent inauguration of the Santragachi-Khatipura Special on October 26, 2026. Furthermore, the ongoing festive specials between Howrah and Khatipura (Train No. 03007/03008) are slated to continue their operations through early December 2026.

The deployment of these services involves coordination across multiple zones, including the Dhanbad Rail Division and the North Western Railway, ensuring that major transit hubs are better connected to Khatipura during the holiday rush.

Boosting Transit Between Major Hubs

The introduction of the Hubballi-Khatipura route adds significant capacity to the network, specifically targeting the surge in commuters traveling between major transit hubs and Khatipura. By providing these additional trips, the railways aim to manage the heavy influx of passengers looking to travel home or visit relatives during the festive period.
