Humsafar & Poorva Express: New Terminals and Timings Announced
Indian Railways announces major terminal and schedule changes for Humsafar and Poorva Express on the Prayagraj-Delhi route.
Indian Railways has announced significant modifications to the operational schedules and terminal points for several key trains running on the Prayagraj-Delhi route. These changes, which involve the Humsafar Express and the Poorva Express, are being implemented through the coordinated efforts of the North Central, Northern, and Eastern Railway zones.
The updates are scheduled to roll out in phases, with interim changes beginning on October 28, 2026, and permanent terminal extensions following in early 2027. Passengers traveling between Prayagraj and Delhi are advised to take note of these upcoming shifts in destination and timing.
Humsafar Express: Transition to Anand Vihar Terminal
The Humsafar Express services will undergo a major transformation, eventually extending their reach to the Anand Vihar Terminal. The transition will happen in two distinct stages.
Interim Schedule Changes (Starting October 28, 2026)
Before the full terminal shift, passengers will notice the following interim schedule adjustments:
- Train No. 12275: Starting October 29, this service will arrive at New Delhi at 6:35 AM.
- Train No. 12276: Starting October 28, this service will depart from New Delhi at 11:05 PM, reaching Prayagraj at 7:45 AM.
Permanent Terminal Extension (Starting January 1, 2027)
From the start of the new year, the destination for the Humsafar Express will officially move to Anand Vihar Terminal:
- Train No. 12275: Will arrive at Anand Vihar Terminal at 6:25 AM effective January 1, 2027.
- Train No. 12276: Will begin its return journey from Anand Vihar Terminal at 11:15 PM starting January 2, 2027, arriving in Prayagraj at 7:45 AM.
Additionally, Train No. 22437 and Train No. 22438 will see changes starting October 28, 2026. Train 22437 will arrive at Anand Vihar at 6:25 AM, while Train 22438 will depart Anand Vihar at 11:15 PM starting October 29, with scheduled stops at Kanpur Central (4:10 AM) and Prayagraj Junction (7:55 AM).
Poorva Express: Extension to Shakur Basti
The Poorva Express services will also see an extension of their routes, with trains now scheduled to terminate at Shakur Basti. The changes for the various Poorva Express services are as follows:
Service Details for Train Nos. 12381 and 12382
- Train No. 12381: Effective October 28, this train will extend to Shakur Basti, arriving at New Delhi at 6:20 AM and reaching the Shakur Basti terminal at 7:20 AM.
- Train No. 12382: This return service will commence its departure from Shakur Basti at 4:35 PM starting October 30.
Service Details for Train Nos. 12303 and 12304
- Train No. 12303: Starting October 30, this service will also extend to Shakur Basti, with a scheduled arrival at 7:20 AM.
- Train No. 12304: This service will begin departing from Shakur Basti at 4:35 PM starting October 29.
