Indian Railways Bypass Plan: New tracks for freight trains to reduce passenger train delays
Indian Railways is planning to build new bypass tracks to stop freight trains from entering busy station yards. This move will help passenger trains reach their destinations on time by reducing congestion at major junctions. The Railway Board has already approved a budget of ₹83 lakh for the initial survey of these lines.

The project focuses on the route from Jabalpur to Kota, covering a total length of about 166 kilometers. West Central Railway identified eight key locations for this project to divert goods trains away from main platforms.

The main goal is to separate freight traffic from passenger traffic. When goods trains use the bypass, platforms will remain free for express trains, and the problem of trains waiting on the outer signal will decrease.

What is the current status of the project
