Indian Railways extends services and adds new train stoppages across four states

Service Extensions and New Stoppages
The Railway Board has officially approved the extension of services for three trains and the introduction of new stoppages for 10 trains, benefiting passengers across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra. While specific train identities for these adjustments are pending final confirmation from regional zones, it has been confirmed that three train services within Madhya Pradesh have been granted extensions to improve regional connectivity.
New Daily Express Between Mumbai and Sawantwadi Road
In addition to these structural changes, Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Piyush Goyal, alongside Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, inaugurated a new daily train service on September 3, 2026, connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai to Sawantwadi Road. The trains, numbered 15087 (CSMT-Sawantwadi Road Express) and 15088 (Sawantwadi Road-CSMT Express), cover approximately 510 km daily and provide critical connectivity to Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts.
Special Trains for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar Routes
Northern Railway has also launched reserved special services to manage passenger traffic between Delhi, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. The New Delhi-Danapur Reserved Special Express (04090/04089) is scheduled for eight trips, departing New Delhi every Friday from September 4 to September 25, and departing Danapur every Saturday from September 5 to September 26. Furthermore, the Ayodhya Cantt-Anand Vihar Terminal Reserved Special Express (04213/04214) and the Varanasi-Anand Vihar Terminal Reserved Special Express (04217/04218) operated special services on September 3 and 4. These trains feature AC 3 Tier Economy, General, and Sleeper coach configurations.
