Indian Railways Launches Three Puja Special Trains via Siwan Route for Delhi

Indian Railways has officially approved the operation of three Puja Special trains connecting the Siwan route to Delhi to manage the festive rush during the upcoming Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath festival season. These services are scheduled to operate between October 10 and November 7, 2026, departing from Anand Vihar Terminal toward Muzaffarpur and Jogbani. As part of the festive service expansion, the railway authorities have extended the scheduled stoppages for these special trains to include Deoria Sadar and Siwan stations, providing significant relief to passengers in the Gorakhpur region and surrounding areas. Specific services include the Anand Vihar-Jogbani Special (04008/04007), which will run five trips between October 10 and November 8, 2026. Additionally, the Anand Vihar-Muzaffarpur bi-weekly train is slated to run every Tuesday and Friday from October 13 through November 24, 2026.

These three trains are part of a broader national initiative by Indian Railways to operate over 100 special trains across various routes from September through December 2026. In parallel, the Northern Railway division has announced additional holiday connectivity, including special services linking Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jammu Tawi, Varanasi, and New Delhi. These announcements coincide with infrastructure-related adjustments, including the cancellation, diversion, or short-termination of select trains due to maintenance works at Manwala station and the Ghaziabad yard.
