The Ministry of Railways has announced the regularization of two key weekly special train services, significantly strengthening rail connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and the Northeastern states. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the approval to Tripura MP Biplab Kumar Deb, noting that the transition from special status to regular express service will eliminate special charges, resulting in an approximate 30% reduction in ticket fares for reserved categories. Passengers travelling on these routes will now save significantly on their journeys while enjoying more reliable and scheduled operations.

Train No. 11665 Rani Kamalapati-Agartala Express will begin regular service from Rani Kamalapati station every Thursday,
effective October 22, 2026. The return leg, Train No. 11666 Agartala-Rani Kamalapati Express, will commence regular operations from Agartala every Sunday,
starting October 25, 2026. This important route will feature
23 coaches and serve major junctions including Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Prayagraj, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Ara, Patna, Barauni, Katihar, New Jalpaiguri, and Guwahati. Passengers along this vast corridor will experience much smoother travel with the removal of special surge pricing.
Additionally, the West Central Railway has regularized the Hapa-Naharlagun Weekly Express to further aid long-distance travellers.
Train No. 19525 will depart from Hapa every Wednesday, beginning September 23, 2026, while the return service,
Train No. 19526, will depart from Naharlagun every Saturday, starting September 26, 2026. This service directly benefits passengers within the Bhopal Division, with confirmed stoppages at Byawara-Rajgarh, Routhiai, Guna, and Shivpuri stations. These updates ensure that daily commuters, students, and holiday travellers can move seamlessly across regions without facing the uncertainties and higher costs associated with temporary special trains.
