Massive Deployment of Special Trains in 2026
To accommodate the massive surge in passenger numbers, Indian Railways has outlined an extensive travel plan for 2026. Key details of the deployment include:
- Total Trips: Over 1,000 special train trips are scheduled to operate.
- Duration: The services will run for a 61-day window from October 1 to November 30, 2026.

Northern Railway Deployment
Northern Railway will begin deploying its fleet of festival special trains starting October 1, 2026. Many of these services are expected to continue through the end of November to ensure continuous connectivity.
