Indian Railways Launches Special Janmashtami Trains For Delhi And Jaipur

Indian Railways has announced special train services to manage passenger rush during the upcoming Janmashtami festival in September 2026. Pilgrims traveling to Mathura can utilize these new unreserved services connecting major northern hubs like Delhi and Jaipur. Janmashtami falls on Friday September 4 2026 with Dahi Handi on September 5 and Nandotsav on September 6. An unreserved special train will run between Jaipur and Mathura starting September 3 2026 completing three trips covering the Nandotsav period. Four unreserved special trains are scheduled between Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction and Mathura Junction on September 3 4 and 5 2026 to ease heavy passenger traffic. The overall operational window for these festival trains spans from September 3 to September 6 2026 connecting major northern hubs including Delhi Varanasi Ringas Junction and Agra Cantt.
