The summer special trains are scheduled to operate primarily from April to July 2026. Central Railway alone has planned 1,484 services to handle the crowd. Some of the key routes include connectivity between Mumbai, Gujarat, and Kolkata to various destinations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Specific services like the Udhna-Jayanagar Unreserved Special will run via Gorakhpur to assist migrant workers and families returning home.

Saraswati Chandra, CPRO of East Central Railway, stated that special trains are being introduced to manage the additional crowd during the summer holidays. He highlighted that services like Barauni-New Delhi and Patna-Howrah are being extended to accommodate passengers who are unable to find confirmed tickets. Additionally, North Eastern Railway has announced weekly services between Gorakhpur and Alipurduar. South Central Railway is also operating special trains towards Santragachi and Chennai to ease the travel rush from Andhra Pradesh. These steps are taken to minimize the waiting list and provide comfortable travel options for everyone.
