To ensure smooth local movement, 6-meter wide service roads will be built on both sides of the bridge for maintenance and local traffic.

The new bridge will be 1.5 times wider and 2 meters higher than the current 72-year-old structure. This increase in height and width will allow the railways to lay a third line from Indore to Lakshmibai Nagar and extend platform lengths.
