The new modern building of Lakshmibai Nagar station became operational in a phased manner from Friday, June 12, 2026. Initially, various department offices are moving to the new building, and passenger facilities will follow soon. To facilitate this, a mega block was taken on June 11, 2026, for yard remodeling and signaling shifts, which led to some train cancellations and route changes.
What changes will happen at Indore Main Station?
To prepare for Simhastha-2028, Platform 1 and the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) near the parcel office will be demolished. The main station is being redesigned on the theme of Rajwada Palace with a budget of 412 crore rupees. The station area will expand from 50,000 square feet to 4.56 lakh square feet, featuring a seven-story building with 26 lifts and 17 escalators.
