Jhansi Division: 13 New Foot-Over Bridges to Boost Safety

The Jhansi Division of the North Central Railway (NCR) is embarking on a major infrastructure project to prioritize passenger security. Plans have been unveiled to construct 13 new foot-over bridges (FOBs) along the Mahoba-Khajuraho-Lalitpur railway track, a move set to transform how commuters navigate the stations.

Eliminating Dangerous Track Crossings

For many passengers, crossing active railway tracks to move between platforms has been a common, albeit extremely hazardous, practice. This behavior not only poses a severe threat to human life but also contributes to train delays. By installing these 13 foot-over bridges, the railway administration aims to provide a safe, dedicated passage for commuters, effectively eliminating the need to step onto the tracks.

Construction Already Underway

Manoj Kumar Singh, the Public Relations Officer for the Jhansi Railway Division, confirmed that the initiative is already in motion. Construction work has officially commenced at several key locations, including the Birauta (Bijarotha) and Jakhaura railway stations.

In a positive development for local commuters, construction efforts have also resumed at the Dhavarra railway station following a previous period of stagnation, signaling a renewed push to complete these vital safety upgrades.

Comprehensive Station Coverage

The project is wide-reaching, encompassing a total of 13 stations within the Jhansi division. Among the stations slated for these improvements are:

  • Birari
  • Udaypura

Railway officials are currently finalizing the logistical processes required to initiate construction at the remaining stations across the network to ensure the project proceeds smoothly.
