To manage the massive influx of passengers during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja festivities, the Jhansi Railway Division has rolled out a fleet of 57 festival special trains. This initiative is designed to accommodate the significant surge in travel demand as people head home for the holidays.
Current Operational Status
As of Saturday, November 7, 2026, the division has already put 22 of these special services into active operation. These trains are running in all directions to facilitate smoother travel for commuters across the region.
Unreserved Services: Hazrat Nizamuddin to VGL Jhansi
A key component of this festive arrangement includes unreserved special services connecting Hazrat Nizamuddin and Veerangana Lakshmibai (VGL) Jhansi. These trains are composed of 16 coaches, featuring 14 general second-class coaches and two SLR coaches, making them accessible via standard general tickets.
- Train Number 04411 (VGL Jhansi to Hazrat Nizamuddin): Operating on November 6, 7, and 8, 2026. It departs at 6:30 AM and is scheduled to arrive at 4:00 PM.

National Scale and Safety Measures
The festive surge is being managed on a much larger scale across the country, with Indian Railways operating approximately 18,000 special trains nationwide to handle the increased passenger load.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed that enhanced safety and crowd management protocols are in place to ensure a secure journey. Key measures include:
- Increased deployment of RPF personnel to maintain order.
- Installation of AI-enabled surveillance cameras at major railway stations.
- The creation of separate holding areas for reserved and unreserved passengers to minimize congestion on platforms.
Passengers are encouraged to verify the most recent schedules and the operational status of their trains via the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or the official IRCTC website before starting their journey.
