Pune Division Third Line and Yard Commissioning Work

In another major infrastructure push, the rail administration has announced that commissioning work for the Hadapsar-Pune-GCMC third rail line will begin alongside crucial signal and track upgrades at the Pune and Hadapsar yards. These developmental projects will officially impact train schedules starting from September 19, 2026. The extensive engineering works are aimed at boosting network capacity and reducing bottlenecks in the region.

Specific Train Diversions and Schedule Changes

As a direct result of the Pune division projects, seven trains are slated for route diversions. Affected services include the Jammu Tawi-Pune Express (11078) on September 21, the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Vasco-da-Gama Express (12780) on September 22 and October 3, the Pune-Jammu Tawi Express (11077) on September 20, and the Kolhapur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express (12147) on September 22. In addition to these diversions, four trains will be partially cancelled, and two other trains will have their departure times rescheduled. Passengers are advised to utilize the NTES app or IRCTC portal for real-time updates regarding their specific train journeys.
