Jhingura-Mirzapur Level Crossing Closure: Plan Your Route

Commuters and motorists traveling between Jhingura and Mirzapur should prepare for travel disruptions. The railway level crossing number 2/B in this section is scheduled to be closed to all road traffic to allow for critical infrastructure maintenance.
Maintenance Schedule and Timing
The temporary closure is set to begin at 7:00 AM on October 5, 2026. It will remain in effect through the weekend, concluding at 7:00 PM on October 7, 2026. During this period, the crossing will be inaccessible to vehicles.
Essential Infrastructure Upgrades
The shutdown is necessary to facilitate vital engineering works on the Jhingura-Mirzapur railway section. Senior Section Engineer Rakesh Kumar Singh stated that the closure is required for deep screening work. This process will be carried out using a Ballast Cleaning Machine (BCM) to ensure the track remains in optimal condition.
Traffic Diversions in Place
To mitigate the impact of this service disruption, the railway administration has coordinated with local authorities. Officials have been directed to manage traffic diversions through alternative routes to ensure that commuters can navigate the area despite the closure.
Travelers are advised to seek these alternative paths to avoid significant delays while the scheduled engineering works are completed.
