Jodhpur Division Launches 7 Festive Special Trains

To manage the massive passenger surge expected during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals, the North Western Railway's Jodhpur Division has announced the operation of seven pairs of special trains. These services are scheduled to complete a total of 76 trips over the next month and a half, providing enhanced connectivity across several major routes.
Key Festive Routes and Train Numbers
The special services are designed to cater to passengers traveling to various destinations, including Gorakhpur, Haridwar, Subedarganj, Bandra Terminus, Chennai Beach, Danapur, and Mau. Some of the prominent special trains include:
- Subedarganj-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express (04193/04194)
- Jodhpur-Gorakhpur Puja Special (04829/04830)
- Barmer-Haridwar Special (04811/04812)
- Jodhpur–Chennai Beach Special (04815/04816)
In addition to these new services, railway authorities have integrated extra coaches into three existing pairs of trains, specifically on the Indore-Jodhpur and Indore-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express routes, to boost passenger capacity.
Direct Connectivity and Infrastructure Updates
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Anurag Tripathi confirmed a major improvement in connectivity for pilgrims. The Sabarmati BG-Shri Mata Vaishnaw Devi Katra Express (19223) now provides direct service from Jodhpur. The train departs Jodhpur daily at 7 PM and arrives at 6:55 PM the following day, completely removing the need for passengers to change trains at Jammu Tawi.
Furthermore, travelers on the Jodhpur-Bhopal-Jodhpur Express will benefit from the resumption of its stoppage at Kota station. This service, which had been previously suspended due to redevelopment work, resumed operations on October 19, 2026.
Safety Measures and Passenger Information
To ensure smooth operations and passenger safety during the holiday rush, the Jodhpur Division has implemented several monitoring protocols:
- Establishment of a dedicated war room to monitor crowd levels in real-time.
- Continuous surveillance through CCTV systems.
- Strict enforcement of ticket checks by railway personnel.
Bookings for several festival special trains, including those originating from Ahmedabad, Vasai Road, and Bandra Terminal, opened on October 19, 2026. Passengers are advised to check the latest travel updates via the NTES app or by calling the 139 railway helpline.
