Jodhpur Trains Get Extra Coaches; Lalgarh Yard Disruptions

The North Western Railway (NWR) has announced a significant boost in passenger capacity for the upcoming festival season. To manage the heavy rush, 10 additional coaches are being attached to two major train services connecting Jodhpur and Indore. However, commuters should also be aware of upcoming service disruptions due to essential yard construction at Lalgarh Junction.
Festive Relief: Extra Coaches for Jodhpur-Indore Routes
To ease the pressure on waiting lists during the festive period, the Jodhpur Division is augmenting specific train services. This move is part of a larger initiative by NWR to add 135 coaches across 48 pairs of trains throughout October 2026.
1. Jodhpur-Indore-Jodhpur (14801/14802)
Passengers traveling on this route will benefit from additional seating. The following coaches will be added:
- Two Second-Class Sleeper coaches
- Three General Class coaches
These additions will be effective for departures from Jodhpur between October 16 and October 31, and for departures from Indore until November 3.
2. Indore-Bhagat Ki Kothi-Indore (12465/12466)
Similarly, this service will receive extra capacity to accommodate travelers:
- Two Second-Class Sleeper coaches
- Three General Class coaches
The augmentation applies to departures from Indore between October 17 and November 1, and from Bhagat Ki Kothi between October 18 and November 2.
Lalgarh Junction Disruptions: Plan Your Journey
While extra coaches provide relief, construction work at Lalgarh Junction is set to cause travel inconveniences. The installation of RCC box segments for a new Road Under Bridge (RUB) at level crossing 136 will lead to partial cancellations and rescheduling between October 10 and October 14, 2026.
The following services will be impacted:
- Train 15909 (Dibrugarh – Lalgarh Jct.): Partially cancelled between Hanumangarh and Lalgarh on October 10 and 11.
- Train 15910 (Lalgarh Jct. – Dibrugarh): Partially cancelled between Lalgarh and Hanumangarh on October 13 and 14.
- Train 22471 (Lalgarh Jct. – Delhi Sarai Rohilla): Partially cancelled between Lalgarh and Bikaner on October 13 and 14.
- Train 12455 (Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Bikaner Jct.): Partially cancelled at Suratgarh Junction on October 12 and 13.
Railway officials strongly advise all passengers to verify their train status through official channels before starting their journey to avoid inconvenience.
