The Jodhpur Division of the North Western Railway has officially inaugurated a specialized rail route dedicated to the efficient transportation of limestone. This strategic operational launch commenced on the night of September 21, 2026, marked by the successful loading and dispatch of the very first freight train from Kharia Khangar station, destined for Mangalam Cement Limited in Kota.
A Strategic 539-Kilometer Mineral Link
Covering a total distance of approximately 539 kilometers, this new route is set to become a high-value corridor for the division. The financial potential is immense, with each rake transported along this path expected to generate approximately ₹41.35 lakh in revenue for the railways.
Targeting Massive Monthly Earnings
The Jodhpur Division has high expectations for this new service. By streamlining limestone logistics, the division anticipates loading 10 rakes per month. If these targets are achieved, the route is projected to secure monthly earnings exceeding ₹4 crore.
This successful implementation is the result of sustained efforts by the Business Development Unit (BDU) and the adoption of customer-centric policies. The momentum is already building, as officials have confirmed plans to load two additional limestone rakes before the end of September.
