Jogeshwari Terminus Update: 55% work completed, passenger services to start by January 2027
The Jogeshwari Terminus project in Mumbai has reached 55% physical completion. Western Railway General Manager Ram Shray Pandey announced that the terminus is expected to become operational by January 2027. This project aims to reduce the heavy rush at major hubs like Bandra Terminus, Dadar, and Mumbai Central.

Why was the project delayed and what changed
The project faced a delay of about one year due to changes in the design and modifications. The original plan for three platforms was expanded to a four-platform layout, where the fourth platform will serve as the main home platform. Additionally, the width of the platforms was increased from nine meters to 12 meters to make it easier for passengers to move and reduce crowding.
