Kangra Valley Rail Line: ₹26,638 Cr Project Moves Fast

The dream of upgrading the Kangra Valley Rail Line is moving forward rapidly. Indian Railways has achieved a major milestone in the massive ₹26,638 crore project to convert the historic Pathankot-Jogindernagar narrow-gauge track into a modern broad-gauge line.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed that the field survey for this 200-kilometer project is officially complete. Currently, work is focused on the development of the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The project is being overseen by the Northern Railway’s Firozpur division, with M/s LN Malviya Infra Projects Private Limited conducting the field surveys and traffic studies.
