New Daily Kanpur to Anand Vihar Mail Train Approved!
Indian Railways has officially sanctioned a new daily overnight service to improve connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi-NCR region. The newly approved Kanpur Anand Vihar Mail, operating under train numbers 14153 and 14154, will run between Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar Terminal, providing a vital link for both business travelers and daily commuters.
A Milestone for Kanpur Central
This service holds historical significance as it is the first train originating from Kanpur Central to be named after the city. By introducing this daily overnight option, the Railways aims to provide a much-needed secondary link to supplement the existing Shram Shakti Express, offering passengers more flexibility in their travel schedules.
Route Schedule and Travel Timings
The train will cover a total distance of approximately 428 kilometers, with an estimated travel time of about eight hours. The operational schedule is as follows:
- Train 14153 (Departure from Kanpur): This service is scheduled to leave Kanpur Central at 8:40 p.m. and is expected to arrive at Anand Vihar Terminal at 4:50 a.m. the following morning.
- Train 14154 (Return from Delhi): The return journey will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 11:25 p.m., reaching Kanpur Central at 7:25 a.m. the next day.
Commercial Stops Along the Route
To ensure wide-reaching connectivity, the Mail train will serve eight key commercial stations during its journey:
- Phaphund
- Etawah
- Tundla
- Hathras
- Aligarh
- Khurja
- Dadri
- Ghaziabad
Expected Commencement of Service
The introduction of this new route follows consistent advocacy by Member of Parliament Ramesh Awasthi, who presented the requirement to the Railway Board and the Union Railway Minister. While the Railway Board has given the official green light, a specific start date has not yet been released. However, MP Awasthi has expressed confidence that the train will be ready for passengers by the upcoming Dussehra festival.
