To tackle the heavy rush and long waiting lists, the North Central Railway has announced a significant update for the special train service operating between Kanpur Central and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (Bengaluru).

New Coach Added to Ease Passenger Rush

The railway authorities have decided to attach an additional sleeper coach to the special train service, identified by train numbers 04131 and 04132. This move is specifically designed to provide more seating capacity for passengers who have been struggling with high demand on this route.

Schedule of the Additional Coach

The extra capacity will be implemented on specific dates for both the outbound and return journeys:

  • Outbound (Train 04131): The extra sleeper coach will be attached to the train departing from Kanpur Central on October 4, 2026.
  • Return (Train 04132): The additional coach will be available for the journey departing from Bengaluru on October 7, 2026.

Revised Train Composition

With this addition, the total number of coaches on the train will increase from 23 to 24. The updated coach composition for the Kanpur-Bengaluru special train is as follows:

  • 10 Sleeper coaches
  • 2 Third AC coaches
  • 1 Second AC coach
  • 9 General coaches
  • 2 SLR/D coaches

Railway officials emphasized that this decision aims to alleviate passenger congestion and ensure a more comfortable travel experience for commuters currently on the waiting list.
