North Central Railway launches special superfast trains between Kanpur and Delhi

The North Central Railway has introduced new reserved special superfast express trains between Kanpur and Delhi to help passengers travel smoothly during the busy festive season. These special services are designed to manage heavy passenger crowds during major upcoming festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath.
The special train services will start running from September 7, 2026, and will continue operating until the end of November 2026 to provide much-needed relief to travellers on this busy route. Both AC and sleeper class coaches will be available on these trains for passenger comfort.
New Delhi and Kanpur Central Special Train Schedule
The New Delhi – Kanpur Central Reserved Special Superfast Express (Train numbers 02456/02455) will run for a total of 49 trips between September 7 and November 30, 2026.
This train will operate four days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. It will depart from New Delhi at 7:45 a.m. and reach Kanpur Central at 1:15 p.m. On the return journey, the train will leave Kanpur Central at 3:00 p.m. and arrive in New Delhi at 8:20 p.m. During its journey, the train will halt at Aligarh, Etawah, and Tundla Junction.
Anand Vihar Terminal and Kanpur Central Special Train Schedule
The Anand Vihar Terminal – Kanpur Central Reserved Special Superfast Express (Train numbers 02458/02457) will complete 36 trips between September 8 and November 29, 2026.
This service will operate three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The train will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 8:20 a.m. and reach Kanpur Central at 1:15 p.m. For the return trip, it will depart from Kanpur Central at 3:00 p.m. and reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 8:10 p.m. This train will feature convenient stops at Aligarh and Etawah.
