The project covers a distance of approximately 15.51 km to 16.25 km. The Railway Board has already approved the construction, and the contract was awarded to Ravi Infrabuild Projects Limited for 830.90 crore rupees. The goal is to complete the entire work by October 30, 2027. Topographical survey work has already started on the ground.

To facilitate construction, the railway has requested a 730-day block from the Railway Board. Once approved, train movement on the Anwarganj-Mandhana route will stop for a period. Additionally, the Rawatpur and Kalyanpur railway stations will be closed. A new elevated ‘Atal Station’ will be built near CSJMU university, which will have direct connectivity with the Metro.
