Railway passengers traveling via Kanpur and surrounding routes should check their train status. Several trains have been cancelled or diverted due to yard remodeling and engineering works. Due to doubling work between Akolner-Ahilyanagar-Nimbalak stations, four special trains have been cancelled. The Pune-Gorakhpur Special (01415) is cancelled from May 14 to 18, and Gorakhpur-Hadapsar Special (01416) from May 15 to 19. Pune-Danapur Special (01449/01450) is cancelled from May 16 to 17.
Several long-distance trains are running on diverted routes. The Nizamuddin-Yesvantpur Express and Jammu Tawi-Pune Express will travel via Manmad, Nasik, and Kalyan. The Hubli-Banaras and Bengaluru-New Delhi Express will be diverted via Solapur, Kurduwadi, and Latur Road.

Engineering work on the Kanpur-Unnao Ganga rail bridge and yard remodeling at Prayagraj and Jaunpur stations have impacted many services. The New Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi (12004) will run via Ghaziabad-Moradabad until May 13 and will not stop at Aligarh, Tundla, or Kanpur.

IRCTC Bharat Gaurav Train for Jyotirlinga Darshan
IRCTC will operate a special tourist train from June 12 to June 23, 2026. Passengers can board from Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, and other stations. The tour covers Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Somnath, and other major Jyotirlingas over 12 days.
