Kanpur Trains: New 3-Year Branding E-Auction Launched!

The Prayagraj division of the North Central Railway has officially kicked off a massive e-auction process, offering companies the chance to turn prominent train coaches into moving billboards. This branding initiative is designed to modernize the aesthetic look of several major train sets while boosting non-fare revenue for the railways.
Massive Advertising Space on Express Trains
The auction provides high-visibility advertising rights on the exterior surfaces of several well-known trains. Among the key services included in this tender are the Shramshakti Express and the Sangam Express. This is a significant opportunity for brands to reach a vast traveling audience across the region.
The scale of the branding space available is impressive:
- Available Space: Between 700 and 1,800 square meters per train rake.
- Method: Branding can be executed using specialized wrapping or vinyl stickers.
- Contract Term: The successful bidders will hold the rights for a period of three years.
Transparent Bidding via IREPS
To maintain complete transparency in the procurement process, the auction is being conducted digitally. Interested parties can participate through the Indian Railways E-Procurement System (IREPS) portal, ensuring a fair and streamlined bidding environment for all corporate participants.
Strict Content Regulations and Approvals
While the branding opportunities are vast, the Ministry of Railways has enforced stringent guidelines to maintain the decorum of public transport. According to official Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) policies, certain types of advertisements are strictly forbidden. Companies cannot promote:
- Alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.
- Erotic or inappropriate content.
- Services from competing modes of transportation.
Additionally, every advertising plan must undergo a mandatory review and receive prior approval from the relevant Divisional Authority. This ensures that all displayed content complies with both central and state-level regulations. Any advertisement found to be in violation of these rules will face immediate removal.
