13 Trains to Kanpur Cancelled Due to Delhi Protest

Indian Railways has cancelled 13 Mail and Express trains scheduled to originate from or pass through Kanpur on October 9 and 10, 2026. This decision was taken in anticipation of severe road traffic congestion that could disrupt rail operations and passenger movement.

Protest at Jantar Mantar Triggers Gridlock Fears

The disruption follows a directive issued on October 9 by the Railway Board’s coaching directorate. The move was prompted by a planned protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. Authorities expect the demonstration to cause major gridlock around New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations, particularly between 4 AM and 2 PM on October 10.
