Kasganj-Aishbagh Express Adds AC 3-Tier Economy Coach

Indian Railways has announced a significant upgrade to the Kasganj-Aishbagh Intercity Express (15311/15312). To improve the travel experience for long-distance commuters, an AC 3-tier economy coach has been added to the train's composition. This update, confirmed on September 24, 2026, increases the total number of coaches from 16 to 17.
The addition of this new Kasganj-Aishbagh Express AC coach is specifically designed to provide a more comfortable and affordable transit option. The move is expected to benefit a wide range of passengers, with a particular focus on enhancing the journey for women and elderly travelers.
More Berths and Lower Fares
The new AC 3-tier economy coach offers several advantages over the standard 3-tier AC carriages. While a conventional 3-tier AC coach typically accommodates 72 berths, this new design features 83 berths, allowing more passengers to travel in comfort. Furthermore, these coaches are more budget-friendly, offering fares that are approximately 8% lower than standard 3-tier AC coaches.
Passengers can look forward to several modern amenities within these coaches, including:
- Individual AC vents for personalized temperature control
- Foldable snack tables for convenience
- Dedicated holders for mobile phones and water bottles
- Personal reading lights
- USB charging points for electronic devices
- Improved ladder access to upper berths and increased headroom
- Disability-friendly toilets to ensure accessibility for all
This specific coach design was first introduced at the Kapurthala Rail Coach Factory on February 11, 2021, and is now being utilized to boost service quality on this route.
