The Kashi-Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper will operate via Prayagraj and Kanpur Central, providing much-needed connectivity for millions of travelers. According to the Prime Minister, the service is designed to cater to a diverse group of passengers, including:

  • Devotees visiting holy sites like Baba Vishwanath and the Sangam.
  • Tourists exploring the cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Youth and students traveling for education and opportunities.
  • Businesspeople moving between major economic hubs.
"Whether it’s a darshan of Baba Vishwanath or a journey to the Sangam, this train will connect faith with opportunity and tradition with modernity," said PM Modi.

State-of-the-Art Safety and Amenities

This next-generation train is equipped with advanced safety systems and modern onboard amenities to ensure a premium travel experience. The Prime Minister emphasized that the launch would not only save significant travel time but also drastically improve the overall quality of rail journeys between these two major cities.

The flag-off ceremony in Varanasi was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw. This launch follows the earlier introduction of Vande Bharat Sleeper services on the Howrah-Guwahati corridor, signaling a broader rollout of these advanced sleeper trains across the country.

By strengthening the link between the national capital and one of India's most prominent spiritual destinations, the Indian Railways continues its mission to make long-distance travel more reliable and passenger-centric.
