KAVACH 4.0 Hits Telangana: 108km Malkajgiri-Kamareddi Stretch Now Ultra-Safe!
The Ministry of Railways has achieved a major safety milestone with the successful deployment of KAVACH 4.0 in Telangana. This indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system is now fully operational across a 108-kilometer stretch between the Malkajgiri and Kamareddi rail sections, promising much safer and more seamless train operations for the region.
High-Level Inspection Confirms System Readiness
The official announcement, made on September 23, 2026, follows a rigorous, hands-on inspection conducted on September 22, 2026. To ensure the technology was performing to standard, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), led a high-level team on a special train to verify the transition from the previous KAVACH 3.2 version to the upgraded 4.0 system.
The inspection team included key technical leadership:
- P.V. Murali Krishna, Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer.
- Santosh Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager of the Hyderabad Division.
