North Central Railway (NCR) has successfully started the Kavach Version 4.0 system on the 207-kilometer Tundla–Panki Dham section. This indigenous Automatic Train Protection system now allows trains to run at speeds up to 130 kmph safely. The installation involved a massive infrastructure setup to ensure the system works without fail. The system was integrated with the Hitachi Electronic Interlocking System and validated by ISA Italcertifier from Italy. To make this operational, the railway team installed thousands of RFID tags and built several communication towers.
