Key Details of the Khalilabad-Bahraich Project
The project spans approximately 240 to 240.26 kilometers with an estimated cost of 4,935 to 4,940 crore rupees. It will cover important regions including Bansi, Domariaganj, Utraula, Balrampur, and Shravasti. Currently, about 50% of land acquisition is complete, and forest land diversion has been finalized.
Current Progress and Status
The physical progress of the project stands at 13%, while the financial investment has reached 32%. Work is currently underway on soil filling and laying ballast. Five stations, including Basta (Khesaraha), are under construction. Member of Parliament Jagdambika Pal recently inspected the site on June 7, 2026, to ensure quality and timely completion.
