Land measurement for Khalilabad Bahraich rail line is completed across 30 villages

Authorities have successfully concluded the land measurement process for the Khalilabad-Bahraich railway line across 30 villages in the Utraula tehsil region. This critical milestone involved the identification of approximately 286 acres of land necessary for the project's progression. Following the completion of these measurements, a formal proposal for land acquisition has been submitted. Once this proposal receives official approval, the district administration and the railway department will initiate the formal land acquisition process. Currently, track laying activities are advancing rapidly, extending from Khalilabad through Bansi and Siddharthnagar toward the Utraula border.

Project Scale and Vision

The Khalilabad-Bahraich rail project is an extensive 240-kilometer infrastructure development sanctioned with a total budget of ₹4940 crore. It is designed to link the districts of Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, and Bahraich, ultimately serving over one crore people and facilitating the upgrade of Balrampur station into a major railway junction. Previous government budget allocations included ₹620 crore specifically for the initial 80-kilometer segment connecting Bahraich, Shravasti, and Balrampur, as officials maintain a completion target of 2026 for the entire line.
