Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Mega Coaching Terminal at Khatipura on June 21, 2026. Along with the terminal, the Minister also flagged off the Khatipura-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express, which is the first train to both start and end its journey at Khatipura station.

The terminal is developed as a satellite facility to reduce the heavy rush at Jaipur Junction. It has a capacity to maintain and repair up to 12 trains in a 24-hour cycle. The facility is equipped with an automated coach washing plant, computerized wheel profile management, and the North Western Railway’s first bogie drop pit system for faster repairs.
