New Khurja-Meerut City MEMU Service via Bulandshahr Approved

The Ministry of Railways has officially greenlit the introduction of a new Khurja–Meerut City Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) service. This strategic move is designed to significantly enhance regional connectivity across Western Uttar Pradesh, providing a much-needed transport boost for the area.
The approval was communicated via an official letter from Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to Bulandshahr Member of Parliament Dr. Bhola Singh, following his consistent advocacy for better transport infrastructure in the region.
Route Details and Station Stops
The newly sanctioned service, designated as Train No. 64573/64574, will operate via Bulandshahr. The MEMU is set to serve several intermediate towns, ensuring easy access for local residents. The service will include commercial stops at all stations along the route, including key locations such as:
- Bulandshahr
- Hapur
- Hafizpur
New Train Schedule: Timings and Duration
To assist commuters with their travel planning, the approved schedule for the new service is as follows:
Train No. 64573 (Khurja to Meerut City)
- Departure from Khurja: 1:15 PM
- Arrival at Meerut City: 5:20 PM
- Total Journey Time: 4 hours and 5 minutes
Train No. 64574 (Meerut City to Khurja)
- Departure from Meerut City: 11:25 AM
- Arrival at Khurja: 4:00 PM
- Total Journey Time: 4 hours and 35 minutes
Expected Launch and Additional Connectivity
While the Ministry has confirmed the approval, the official start date for regular operations is still pending. However, services are expected to commence in October, providing a timely advantage to passengers ahead of the festive season.
In addition to the Khurja–Meerut City route, the Ministry has also sanctioned a separate MEMU connection between Meerut City and Saharanpur. These new rail services are intended to provide a more reliable and efficient travel alternative for daily commuters, students, and workers throughout the region.
