Dakniya Talav station has been renamed as New Kota Railway Station (NKOT). It is being redeveloped with a budget of 132 crore rupees to ease the crowd at Kota Junction. The project aims for completion by December 2026 and will feature airport-like facilities including a large air-concourse, VIP lounges, and a 70 kW solar power plant. Meanwhile, Kota Junction is being upgraded into an international-standard station with an investment of 228.83 crore rupees, featuring 14 escalators and 8 lifts.

To better manage traffic, 14 weekly trains started operating from Sogaria station instead of Kota Junction from January 1, 2025.
