Kota Station Platform 3 Redevelopment: 8 Trains Diverted to Sogaria
The transformation of Kota Railway Station is entering a significant new phase. As part of a massive infrastructure upgrade, the Indian Railways is set to commence the redevelopment of Platform 3. While this project aims to elevate the station to international standards, it will necessitate temporary changes to train operations and routing to ensure passenger safety and smooth construction flow.
Major Train Diversions and Route Changes
To accommodate the construction work on Platform 3, train traffic will be shifted to platforms 1, 1-A, 2, and 4. Most importantly, eight specific train services will face changes in their routes or termination points. To manage the flow, the Railways has introduced the following diversions through Sogaria Station:
- Bypassing Kota Junction: The Jodhpur-Bhopal, Bhopal-Jodhpur, Jabalpur-Ajmer, and Ajmer-Jabalpur trains will no longer pass through Kota Junction and will instead be diverted via Sogaria Station.
- Terminating at Sogaria: The Etawah-Kota, Indore-Kota, and Bina-Kota services are scheduled to terminate at Sogaria during this period.
- Originating from Sogaria: The Kota-Bina service will begin its journey from Sogaria Station instead of Kota.
A ₹207 Crore World-Class Transformation
This redevelopment is not just a minor repair but a comprehensive overhaul. With an allocated budget of ₹207.63 crore, the project is designed to modernize the station's facilities. The upgrade is slated for completion by April 29, 2025.
