During his visit to the constituency on September 21, 2026, the Chief Minister inaugurated two-minute experimental stoppages for two major express train pairs, a move approved by the Railway Board to improve local connectivity.
Which Express Trains are Now Stopping at Kuppam?
The Railway Board has sanctioned these temporary halts to facilitate easier travel for passengers in the region. The following services have commenced their experimental stops:
- Vasco-da-Gama-Velankanni Weekly Express (Train No. 17315/17316)
- Train No. 17315 began its halt on September 21, 2026.
- Train No. 17316 began its halt on September 22, 2026.
- Dadar-Puducherry Tri-weekly Express (Train No. 11005/11006)
- Train No. 11005 commenced its stop on September 20, 2026.
- Train No. 11006 commenced its stop on September 22, 2026.
Expanding Kuppam's Railway Network
With these new additions, Kuppam station now facilitates a total of 59 train halts. Chief Minister Naidu highlighted that efforts are ongoing to further increase this number to better serve the public.
Beyond immediate railway updates, the Chief Minister shared a grand vision for the constituency, aiming to transform it into a prominent economic and tourist destination. Key components of this vision include:
- The development of a new airport in the region.
- A formal request to the Union Railway Minister for the approval of a new broad gauge line connecting Kuppam to Chittoor.

Massive Development Projects Launched
In a separate move during his visit on September 22, 2026, Chief Minister Naidu virtually laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects across Andhra Pradesh. These projects represent a massive investment, carrying a combined valuation of Rs 11,360 crore.
