Landslide disrupts rail services between Bhanjpur and Betnoti
Train operations between Bhanjpur and Betnoti stations have been severely impacted following a landslide reported at kilometer marker 52/02 and 52/03. Railway authorities have launched restoration efforts on a war footing to ensure track safety, leading to the cancellation of several key trains. To mitigate passenger inconvenience, a special shuttle service has been introduced between Rupsa and Betnoti until further notice.
- Train 18401 Bangriposi-Puri Express is cancelled for August 18.
- Passenger services 68174/68175 (Bhanjpur-Rupsa-Bhanjpur), 68176/68177 (Bhanjpur-Rupsa-Baripada), and 68179/68178 (Baripada-Bangriposi-Baripada) are cancelled.
- Special shuttle services are now operational between Rupsa and Betnoti.
Details of Cancellation and Restoration
The landslide, which occurred between the Bhanjpur and Betnoti sections, has forced the South Eastern Railway to suspend regular traffic to prioritize passenger safety. New Shuttle Service Schedule
To ensure connectivity for commuters in the affected region, the railways have initiated a special shuttle service between Rupsa and Betnoti. This arrangement will continue until further notice, subject to operational and safety conditions:
Shuttle 1: Departs Rupsa at 9:40 AM, reaches Betnoti at 11:00 AM.
Shuttle 2: Departs Rupsa at 3:25 PM, reaches Betnoti at 4:30 PM.
Shuttle 3: Departs Rupsa at 6:15 PM, reaches Betnoti at 7:15 PM.
Railway officials have urged travelers to plan their journeys according to these revised timings. Further updates regarding the restoration progress and the resumption of normal train services will be provided as soon as the track is cleared and inspected by engineering teams.
