New Summer Special Train: Indian Railways to run weekly service between LTT and Santragachi via Bilaspur
Central Railway and South East Central Railway have announced a new weekly summer special train to handle the heavy passenger rush during the upcoming vacation season. Train number 01001/01002 will operate between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Santragachi, covering several key stations in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal. This initiative aims to provide confirmed berths to travelers and reduce the load on regular trains during the peak travel months.

Train Schedule and Route Timings
The LTT-Santragachi special train (01001) will depart from Mumbai every Tuesday at 20:15 hours starting from April 21 to July 14, 2026. On the return journey, train number 01002 will leave Santragachi every Thursday at 15:50 hours from April 23 to July 16, 2026. The route includes major commercial halts at Gondia, Durg, Raipur, and Bilaspur, which will significantly benefit passengers in the Chhattisgarh region. Reservations for these services have already commenced through the IRCTC website and computerized booking counters.
Coach Composition and Major Stoppages
This special service will consist of 22 LHB coaches, featuring a mix of AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier Economy, Sleeper class, and General Second Class coaches. This arrangement ensures that travelers from all budget categories can find suitable accommodation for their long-distance journey.
