Lucknow to Construct New Railway Overbridges at Takikhana Crossings

Lucknow residents are set to experience smoother commutes as authorities begin the construction of two new railway overbridges at critical locations along the rail network. This vital infrastructure project addresses a long-standing local demand for better connectivity and aims to solve major traffic bottlenecks in the region. Lucknow MP and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh along with local MLA Neeraj Bora formally proposed this initiative to help the public. Construction is set to begin on two new railway overbridges located at Takikhana railway crossing numbers eight and nine along the Takikhana-Sitapur rail section in Lucknow.

Project Cost and Daily Impact

The development is estimated to cost 172 crore rupees and is expected to provide significant relief to more than two lakh commuters who utilize the route daily. For years, thousands of motorists and pedestrians faced severe delays at these manned gates due to frequent train movements. The new bridges will ensure uninterrupted road traffic and eliminate waiting times entirely.

Once completed, the ROBs are anticipated to streamline vehicular movement and improve connectivity across the rail section. Emergency vehicles, school buses, and office workers will save valuable time during peak hours. This project marks a major milestone in upgrading Lucknow's urban transport infrastructure and ensuring safer road-rail crossings.
