Madar-Rohtak Express: Narnaul Commuters Demand New Timings

The Dainik Rail Yatri evam Jan Kalyan Sangh has formally submitted a memorandum to the Narnaul Station Superintendent, demanding a revision of the timetable for the Madar-Rohtak Express (09639/09640). The move aims to address the growing inconvenience faced by daily travelers on this route.

Proposed Schedule for Better Connectivity

To make the service more practical for the local population, the association has suggested a specific timing adjustment. They have proposed that the train should depart from Narnaul at 8:30 AM, ensuring it reaches Rewari by 9:30 AM.

According to the association, this revised schedule would provide significant relief to several key groups of passengers:

  • Daily Commuters: People traveling between Narnaul, Ateli, and the surrounding regions.
  • Office Professionals: Employees who need to reach their workplaces on time in the morning.
  • Local Traders: Businessmen who rely on timely rail connectivity for their daily operations.

Boosting Passenger Numbers and Revenue

The Sangh pointed out that the current schedule results in low passenger occupancy during the morning hours. By aligning the train's timings with the actual travel needs of the community, the association believes there will be a notable increase in passenger numbers. This shift is expected to ultimately lead to higher revenue for the Indian Railways.

Long-standing Demand

Ganesh Sharma, President of the association, noted that this demand has been consistently raised since January 8, 2025. Memorandums have already been dispatched to the Ajmer and Jaipur divisions to bring this matter to the attention of higher authorities. The association is hopeful that the railway administration will consider the request positively to improve regional connectivity.

The memorandum was submitted in the presence of association members, including Sanjay Sharma Patikara, Advocate Aman Jain, and Shivkumar.
