Vishwa Manas Seva Samiti demands Maghar stoppage for Gorakhpur Bandra Amrit Bharat Express

The Vishwa Manas Seva Samiti has formally petitioned the Union Ministry of Railways to include Maghar railway station as a designated stop for the newly proposed Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus Mumbai Amrit Bharat Express. The request was submitted by Matsyendranath Tripathi, the national office in-charge of the organization, who urged the ministry to address local connectivity concerns.

The Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus Amrit Bharat Express Train Number 15085 and 15086 was among seven new Amrit Bharat Express services approved by the Railway Board in August 2026. While the train has been regularized as a weekly service, its current approved route includes stops at Gorakhpur, Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Badshahnagar, Aishbagh, Kanpur Central, Tundla, Agra Fort, Bayana, Gangapur City, Kota, Bhawani Mandi, Shamgarh, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Palghar, Borivali, and Bandra Terminus, but does not currently feature Maghar.

Demand for Senior Citizen Rail Fare Concessions

In addition to the stoppage request, Matsyendranath Tripathi has demanded the immediate restoration of railway fare concessions for senior citizens. The Vishwa Manas Seva Samiti contends that these financial benefits are essential for the elderly population relying on rail travel. As of late August 2026, the Railway Ministry has not issued a formal response regarding the inclusion of the Maghar stoppage or the reinstatement of the senior citizen discount.
