The movement for this new rail connection was initiated on August 20, 2026, when Mohd. Noor Alam, the Sarpanch of Rampur Panchayat in the Gogri block, submitted a formal demand letter to Alok Ranjan Ghosh, the Director of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT
